Under where?

Don't ask me why, but I was thinking about how moms always tell you to make sure you're wearing clean underwear just in case you get into an accident....

First of all, you shouldn't need an excuse to wear clean underwear.

Aside from that, my question is this:
Are the EMTs really going to be checking your drawers? If you're having a heart attack or accidentally chopped your arm off, are they going to stop what they're doing and check for marks?

And, if your injuries are not life threatening, they're probably not going to be removing any clothing anyway, right? So how would they know if it was clean or dirty?

Who started this particular piece of advice? Who actually got into a situation where they thought to themselves, "I wish I'd worn clean underwear today"?!? Yikes.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

If you're in an accident you will probably sh*t in your pants anyway making clean underwear not clean anymore....so why bother? I have however, cut off underwear. Mike probably had them cut off his unders! (maybe not?)...Aunte M

They sure did cut off his NEW pants and clean undies. They did not, however, cut off his riding jacket as the EMT explained, "That's an expensive jacket, we'll figure out how to get it off." lmao

Yes, they cut mine off. Almost 24 hours after I showed up in the ER. Even if they were clean (and yes, they were) they weren't by that time. It's okay she wore gloves and they went right into the trash.
