Body Issues

Okay, here's another post you'll probably skip but shouldn't. BB is a perfect example of how true this is...

Here's a great blog (from a dad, no less) about kids (yes, I said kids, not adults) trampy halloween costumes. The teen costumes are even worse. Here's a great ad from Dove about what girls (like my BB and soon Molly) see every day. It really does affect their self-esteem and where they fit in.

Take a moment to click the links, trust me. I guess I should be proud of her Quote of the Day!

This is disturbing on so many levels. Poor BB (and Molly soon enough. They have no idea that those women aren't real. They take it at face value.

Very sad indeed.

Yeah, there's nothing like having your four-year-old come home from summer camp crying "They said I can't play with them b/c I'm not popular". Rips your heart out...I thought it would start later, but not at age 4.

And the end result of parents allowing this disturbing trend to continue is this article about a Middle School in Maine that is now giving out birth control to female students as young as age 11!!

Without the necessity of contacting the parents. Nice. The parents won't even know. I am more afraid of the HIVs than an illegitimate.
